1. Overview¶
The Configuration Tool allows developers to conventiently configure the large number of options that are made available in the embedded software that runs on Qualcomm Voice and Music chips. It structures the configurations into a hierarchy of domains that helps users understand the numerous options and configurations that are possible. The Tool has the ability to directly write the configurations into the chip when needed.
The options presented in the user interface of the tool are entirely data-driven, which means each family of chips, and precise chip versions, can have settings specific to that chip family or that particular chip version.
The Tool streamlines the developers’ workflow to allow them to modify configurations, deploy and test very quickly.
This document is divided into a Users’ Guide and a Programmers’ Guide. This former is useful to engineers who only wish to configure Qualcomm chips with configuration data that has been pre-determined by the OEM for a specific chip. The latter is useful for an engineer who wishes to extend the capabilities of this tool for a particular chip or to implement a different work-flow.
